Bloom Takes
MSVU
Mississippi Valley State University’s Office of Admission and Recruitment hosted a tour around
MVSU’s beautiful campus for The Bloom Foundation. The students of The Bloom Foundation had the
opportunity to live as college students attending a historical Black college and university.
During their time on campus, the students were shown different aspects of MVSU, as well as what the
institution offered. They were taught MVSU’s history starting in 1950, and the requirements for getting
accepted into MVSU.
Throughout the day, the students were given the opportunities to experience actual college classes on
campus. After the classes, the students enjoyed tacos from the University’s Cafeteria for Taco Tuesday.
According to MVSU’s Admission Counselor, Justin Stevenson, the students of The Bloom Foundation
were a great group of students that he looked forward to having again next year.
“Partnering with The Bloom Foundation for their Youth Leadership Retreat was fun and exciting. The group was filled with young, bright individuals,” said Stevenson.
